How Obesity can affect a Pregnant woman.

Being obese during pregnancy increases the risk of various pregnancy complications, including: Gestational diabetes. Women who are obese are more likely to have diabetes that develops during pregnancy (gestational diabetes) than are women who have a normal weight. Being very overweight, or obese, which is usually defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or over, is increasingly common. Around 15-20% of pregnant women are now in this category.

Your BMI is a measurement of how overweight you are and is calculated using your weight and height. Before you get pregnant, you can use a BMI healthy weight calculator to work out if you are overweight. However, once you're pregnant, this may not be accurate.

If you are overweight, the best way to protect your health and your baby's wellbeing is to lose weight before you become pregnant.  By reaching a healthy weight, you increase your chances of conceiving naturally and reduce your risk of the problems associated with being overweight in pregnancy. If you get pregnant before losing weight, try not to worry – most women who are overweight have a straightforward pregnancy and birth, and have healthy babies. However, being overweight does increase the risk of complications for both you and your baby.

Good antenatal care can help to minimise these risks. If you are very overweight and pregnant, don't try to lose weight during your pregnancy, as this may not be safe. There is no evidence that losing weight while you're pregnant will reduce the risks. The best way to protect your health and your baby's health is to go to all your antenatal appointments so that the midwife, doctor and any other health professionals can keep an eye on you both. They can manage the risks that you might face due to your weight, and act to prevent – or deal with – any problems.

It's also important to eat a healthy, balanced diet and get some physical activity every day. You should be offered a referral to a dietitian or other health professional for personalised advice on healthy eating and how to be physically active during your pregnancy. Medical Miracles in Bollywood.

As an Indian, I am extremely proud of the fact that our movie industry Bollywood has produced a few gems that can give the best of Global & Indian doctors a run for their money.

I am going to talk about 5 of my favorites in this blog!!!

1. Rowdy Rathore

In this movie, Akshay Kumar plays that rough and tough, angry, honest, handsome cop who is apparently shot in the head by the villain. While even the Khiladi's most

die hard fans believed that he is dead, but thanks to the miracles and out of the world skills of the on screen doctors, he is actually alive and kicking!  Yes, you

got it right....Rathore is alive despite being shot in the head. The only problem is that the brain has developed a heating problem which causes him to faint. While

the world may still be researching on this heating problem, the most natural solution to it is to cool by dropping any kind of liquid from a height.

More of the Story/Movie: Dropping some kind of liquid from a height on a person who suffered a brain injury can cure any kind of heating problems.

2. Hello Brother

Salman Khan is shot and killed by the villain and Arbaaz Khan too is injured. But he is saved by a heart transplant and its quite obvious heart belongs to none other than Salman. After the transplant, Arbaaz can see Salman's ghost who more or less forces him to fall in love with his girlfriend Rani Mukherjee.

Moral of the Story/Movie: Get your heart transplanted from a dead guy and get to romance his girlfriend for free with it.

3. Kambhakt Ishq

While operating Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor leaves her watch in his tummy with the alarm on. The watch is so good, even Akshay's stomach acids cannot damage it and

the Om Mangalam Mangalam alarm goes off anywhere anytime. It rings so loudly that you can hear it anywhere. Infact an auditorium full of people can hear it. And while

the Om Mangalam Mangalam keeps ringing, Kareena falls in love with Akshay and removes away the fear of commitment from him.

Moral of the Movie/Story: A good quality watch isnt damaged by the acids in a human stomach.

4. Diya Aur Toofan

This classic starring Mithun and Madhoo can put any brain surgeon to shame. This movie is the benchmark for brain transplant. Mithun dies soon after marrying Madhoo

and she goes to a temple to yell at God. During all the screaming & yelling, she rolls down at least 500 steps and suffers severe brain damage. The doctors show their

presence of mind to save Mithun's brain and place it in Madhoo's skull rather. When Madhoo wakes up, she is actually Mithun trapped in a woman's body.

What transpires is beyond the scope of words.

Moral of the Movie/Story: The next time you order bheja fry in a restaurant, do find out from a nearby hospital if there is someone like Madhoo who might be needing it.

5. Jimmy

Jimmy is the classic case of like Father Like Son. If Diya aur Toofan had Mithun smashing all medical records, this movie has his son doing the honors. Jimmy is that

happy go lucky guy who is a wannabe engineer in the day and a dancer in the night. He is living the life of a rockstar until he is diagnosed with Brain Tumor. But

Jimmy isnt the one to give up & continues to make merry with engineer/dancer lifestyle until one fateful evening, he is hit on the head by the villain and to

everyone's surprise instead of being a killer blow, it actually ends up curing his tumor.

Moral of the Movie/Story: If you are suffering from Brain Tumor and chemo therapy or radiation therapy isnt curing, you just need to look for the right guy to hit you

in the appropriate place in the head to cure your tumor.

Developing Cross platform app is the survival mantra now if you want to make it your bread butter.

Gone are those days when a company can survive by making apps for just one platform like Windows. Now people carry variety of gadgets like Tabs, Smartphones and newbies like Smartwatches. Every gadget a person got may or may not work on the same platform and people desire to have all their frequently used apps on all their frequently used devices. Hence its highly imperative if you are good at developing apps, you need to ensure you are good at developing the app across all platforms.

The Market leaders at present in developing cross platform apps include Windows, Apple's IOS & Google's Android.

There are basically three kinds of Cross Platform Apps:

1. Developer Cross Platform: These Apps are developed to provide solutions to enterprises for their day to day operations and use advanced tools and languages.

2. Mobile Web: These are apps that are restricted to access on Mobile web & are developed via HTML or Javascript. These are developed using low cost Web developers.

3. Codeless Tools: These allow a user to create an app more rapidly based on the end user requirement.

Developing a Cross Platform App is cost effective too. With just one development team, an App can be developed that will work across all platforms. Cross Platform App is the way ahead and the industry is maturing fast to make them exist. You can do very well in this sector if your expertise is cross platform. Cross Platform developers can get even the Mid & Small Sized Businesses with low budget in their client list along with Large Business Houses.

While its important to understand which tool works best for your client, its also important to understand that an app that works across all platforms is best suited for most clients. Hence its imperative your App should fit in all public App Stores.

An App development team's strength is not judged by its headcount, its judged by its ability to develop apps thats compatible with all platforms.

Supreme Power of Lord Hanuman

Hanuman Chalisa  is a 40 line praise and a prayer to Lord Hanuman for blessings.

Hanuman Chalisa is the only prayer in the world which gives you the fastest benefits.Whatever be your religion, caste or nationality, always worship Lord Hanuman to overcome all the hardships in your life.
Lord Hanuman in Monkey form is one of the most worshiped God all over the world. His Temples and Pictures can be seen all over the world.

His Blessing is very powerful and will bail you out of every difficult circumstance in life.

Avatars always happen for a universal purpose – a magnanimous, self-less purpose. Annihilation of evil and preservation of dharma is usually the sole purpose of all avatars. When an avatar takes birth, the whole universe, and especially the higher beings existing at various locations of the universe, configure to aid the avatar to accomplish its mission. It is usual that many high souls, who are not usually earth bound, decide to take form on earth, to assist the avatar.

When the universe configured to create Lord Rama, with the amsa and power of Lord Vishnu, many souls who participated in that grand decision decided to come forth and aid the avatar. Lord Hanuman is one of them. A powerful entity with the highest of all siddhis (Ashta Siddhis and Nava Nidhis), assumed the role of a devotee of Rama and took physical form to assist Rama in his mission and to teach the world that the greatest of might becomes extremely effective if surrendered to the higher will of the Supreme Lord, which Lord Rama represented. When an extraterrestrial strength is transformed into supreme devotion, it instantly induces a liberated existence.

Lord Hanuman is called as the “Chiranjeevi” (the Immortal). In India, Lord Hanuman is revered by one and all. One can see huge crowds thronging the Hanuman temples across the country on Saturdays. It is said that whenever you recite the hymn – Sriram jayaram jaya jaya ram, Lord Hanuman will be quick to come to the aid of the person chanting it.The devotion of Lord Hanuman to Lord Ram and Seeta Maiyya is of course legendary.

After Lord Ram succeeded in the battle against Ravan, on return to Ayodhya, the Lord bestowed gifts to everyone to celebrate the victory. However, he offered himself as a gift to Hanumanji. Lord Rama told Hanuman, "Whatever you have done for me is simply immeasurable. I will be forever indebted to you. I bless that you gain immortality and be a "chiranjeev".

Lord Hanuman can convert the “asathya” (impossible) to “sathya”(possible).

     Sarva kalyana thadharam Sarvabath Ganamarudham
    Abhara karunamurthim Anjaneyam namayaham
Asathya sadagam swamin Asathyam dava kimvada
    Ramadhoota krupasindho Mathkaryam sadaya prabho.

LED vs LCD, Which is Better?

A perfect Indian home needs to ensure all its members got smartphone and they must also follow their favorite shows/sports on LCD/LED Tv.

An LCD/LED TV is very much an integral part of the smartphone generation more so because the orthodox box/CRT panel TVs are no longer manufactured or available in the market.

While most of us are familiar with abbreviations like LED/LCD, most are unfamiliar with the expansion and the technology behind those abbreviations.

The LED screens that you see around are actually LCDs, and the term "LED" is the invention of Samsung's marketing department.

Samsung TVs deploy a series of Light Emitting Diodes ( LED), the same that are used in Torches and Alarm Clocks. The basic idea is to backlight the LCD panel with LEDs. The catch here is that Samsing isnt the only company to use this.

LCD technology has been existing ever seen those times in the early 70s when digital watches were born. Liquid Crystal Display is more of liquid sandwitched between two plates which changes color when current is applied to it.

While we had black and white LCDs till the late 90s, color LCDs are less than two decades old. Typically in an LCD TV, TV you have a polarised filter, followed by a protective glass layer, followed by the LCD sheet, and then a light source at the back.

In an LED backlighting, White and RGB are the two main options used. White LED is very similar to CCFL and is meant to simulate the natural light of the sun.

The Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR45 is an example of a television that used RGB LEDs as backlight.

When it comes right down to it, the main difference between LCD and LED is that LED televisions are going to look better than other LCD screens.

That's not to downplay how good an LCD HDTV can look, since the picture quality can be stunning, but there's no denying that there is, indeed, a difference between them. That said, there are other differences worth taking into account. LED televisions can be considerably thinner than LCDs, even coming as thin as 0.3-inches. This, however, when mixed with the clearer image, means that buying an LED television is going to cost more than an LCD TV.

So now you know the difference between LCD and LED. There are other differences between them, and even differences within them, but hopefully, now that you know the main things that make LCD and LED screens different, you can better decide which type of television is right for you.

The Chronicles of Rasgulla!!!

Rasgulla is a syrupy sweet dish of the Indian subcontinent popular in places like Odisha, West Bengal & Mauritius. Though the dish originated in Odisha many centuries

ago, the present generation relate to Rasgulla to the spongy white variant of Bengal called Bengali Rasgulla or Sponge Rasgulla.

The Rasgulla of Bengal gained popularity in the 19th century. Its made from table tennis ball sized dumplings of Indian Cottage Cheese known popularly as Chhena &

Semolina Dough. Its cooked in light syrup made of Syrup. This is cooked until the dumplings completely soaks itself in the syrup.

When the Rasgulla originated in Odisha many centuries ago, it was known as Khir Mohana. It was used primarily as offerings to Hindu Goddess Laxmi as prasad after Rath yatra. This ritual started 600 years ago which makes rasgulla a centuries old dish.

Das invented the process of modifying the cottage cheese ( Chhena) in boiling sugar syrup in his sweet shop located in Sutanuti now know as Baghbazar. Das's recipe was

popularised by Bhagwandas Bagla, a Marwari businessman and his regular customer. He ordered huge amounts and popularised the rasgulla beyond the shop's locality.

Then in 1930, Das's son  Krishna Chandra Das introduced vaccum packing which led to the availability of canned Rasgullas and it made the dessert popular outside Kolkata and eventually outside India too.

Later Krishna Chandra's son Sarada Charan Das founded the K.C. Das Pvt Ltd company in 1946. After that Sarada Charan's younger, estranged son Debendra Nath established K.C. Das Grandsons in 1956.

Now a days, canned rasgullas are available throughout the length and breadth of India as well as in neighboring countries like Pakistan and bangladesh. In Nepal,

Rasgulla exists with the moniker Rasbari.

ISRO, the Indian space agency is developing dehydrated rasgullas among other dishes for Indian astronauts for its manned space missions.

100 gms of rasgulla contains 186 calories of which 153 calories is in the form of carbohydrates. It also has 1.85 grams of fat  and 4 gms of protein.

Even after so many centuries and countless civilisation and progression, a typical Bengali meal is incomplete without a Rasgulla.
