Green Tea- A Wonder Drink

Green Tea which is native to China and India has been appreciated for its health benefits for centuries but only recently has gained popularity worldwide.

After Water, Tea is the most consumed beverage in the world. However, 80% of the consumption is Black Tea and 20% is Green Tea.

Except herbal tea every other varieties are brewed from the dried leaves of the Camellia sinensis bush. The level of oxidation of the leaves determines the type of tea. Green tea is made from un-oxidized leaves and is one of the less processed types of tea.

Initially Green Tea was used as medicine in China and India to control bleeding and heal wounds.

Green Tea also helps in aiding digestion and improve heart & mental health. Body temperature is also well regulated by regular consumption of Green Tea. Recent studies have proved that Green Tea also helps in weight loss as well as cures liver disorders.
